Halloween Festivities 2009

So it's NO secret that I love Halloween! Not only do I love Halloween but I love this time of year....FALL. Pumpkins, decorating for fall, new fall candles, and dressing up for Halloween just gets me all giddy. This year is no different. We have been busy with lots of fun things. We picked out our pumpkins from grandpas house, I put all my fall decor out, lit up my pumpkin spice candle, and I was set. Except for the decision... what to be for Halloween?? So browsing I went and like every year nothing in the stores caught my eye mainly because I think the costumes in the stores are over priced and cheaply made. So to Hancock fabric I went and yes I saw several patterns that I fell in love with. But I narrowed it down to one and I bought the pattern for ONE dollar and I was on my way. Well here it was the end of September and I decided that with everything going on there was no way I could make 5 Halloween costumes in time. So back to decision time it was.................................................
and this is what I decided

We had our annual Sakota Halloween Party on Saturday and we had a blast! Everyone that came had great costumes. I must say I do have the funnest family...even my cute little grandma who is in her 80's even dressed up. We had a potatoe bar, the kids played Halloween Games, and we had a haunted house in the shed. My dad makes our shed into a haunted house and boy did he do awesome!! My dad, us siblings, and our spouses help him with all the scariness. This year our young womens came through it and it was so fun!. My dad definetely out did himself, I must say for an amateur he did not disappoint!!
Here is the clan:

We also had our Witches Night Out this week and boy was it a hoot. This was the invite we used, I thought it turned out so cute. One of my friends sister made it for us and I love it!! We had 30 witches show up this year. I think the owners at New Hong Kong thought we were all crazy or of the two :)

We gave out prizes for the scariest witch, cutest witch, and best cackle.

We have had lots of fun Halloween Festivities and it's not even Halloween yet! Stay tuned for more posts. We still have our ward Halloween party, school carnival, and trick or treating.

I am......

I found this on one of my friends blogs and thought it was a fun way to reflect some things in my life....Thanks kim. :)

Outside my window.... I see the new sod Brian layed last night, we took out our island in the front yard and it looks much better. I see black plastic in our flower beds waiting for bark or rocks. I see fall approaching soon.

I am thinking....about alot of things going on in our lives right now. The decision to move is a thought that never leaves my mind. Is it the right decision? Will our kids be okay? Will I be okay? Will our house even sale?

I am thankful for....ALOT!!! I am so blessed with an amazing husband, who is the hardest worker I know. My kids they are healthy and strong and they love me. My family.

From the kitchen....a big zucchini from my neighbor that needs to be made into yummy brownies.

I am wearing....capri's and a short sleeve shirt. Hoping I can wear summer clothes for a little bit longer.

I am creating....haven't created anything all summer. But am excited to start creating. I bought our halloween costume pattern and will soon be working on that.

I am the fair tonight with my hubby and some friends. I sure do love the food at the fair. Who doesn't?

I am reading....nothing at the moment. I need to finish reading Breaking Dawn but can't seem to make myself do it.

I am hoping....that Brooklyn will have a great year in 4th grade. McKenzee will enjoy the new dance studio that she will be taking at. Ty will continue to love to go to pre-school and learn lots of new things. Brian will enjoy his new job.

Around the house....laundry is finally done. The upstairs is all clean, windows are cleaned, and it's ready to have paint touch-ups. another story.

One of my favorite my new fall scentsy. I love the smell of fall. Pumpkins. Cinnamon. Vanilla.

A few plans for the rest of the week....Brooklyn's soccer game on thursday night. Feed the missionaries. Lunch with friends on Friday. A day with my hubby on Saturday.

A picture to share....I love this picture of Ty and Scout. Ty is so excited because Scout is coming to visit next week. Brian and I are going to Seattle for a few days and Brian's parents are coming here from Montana to watch our kids and they are bringing Scout. They are the best of buds!!

First Day Of School

I can't believe school is already in session.....where did the summer go? I feel like we didn't really have a summer, maybe because we still had crappy weather in June. Anyways, there has been lots of excitement, saddness, and anticipation for the school year to start!! When the girls got home from school they both were so excited. Brooklyn loves her teacher Mrs. Lines and is so happy that she has two of her good friends in her class. McKenzee loves Junior High and thinks it's fun to have a locker and seven different classes.

McKenzee- 7th grade

Brooklyn-4th grade
Ty- Pre-school

Ty actually started school today. He went for an hour and the parents got to stay and watch. He did so good, I have to say I have been a little nervous about how he would do but he loves it. Ever since the girls started he has been so excited to start and asked me every day for a week when it was his turn to go to school. It makes me so sad to think that my baby is in pre-school......and then I think wow I have 3 days a week for a few hours that I can do what I want. :) Whats a girl to do?????

Ty's first Primary talk......

Ty gave his first talk in primary two Sundays ago. I must admit I was really nervous that he wouldn't do it. He can be pretty shy, so I thought there was no way he would stand up there and speak in the microphone in front of all the primary kids. But he was such a brave little guy and stood right up there and said his talk. We were SO proud of him!!! This was his talk..........

I love Daddy, he loves me
We love mommy, Yeseree
She loves us and so you see, We are a happy family
I love Kenzee, She loves me
We love Brooklyn, Yeseree
She loves us and so you see, We are a happy family

Sometimes it's hard to be nice. I have to say I'm sorry, Sometimes twice. They say it's okay and we play some more .........

We're a happy family evermore

Father in Heaven smiles to see, When we are nice and try hard to be,

Kind to his children both you and me,

We have Eternal Families.
He did a great job!! He got right up and held the pictures and talked in the microphone so everyone could here him. Good Job Buddy!!!
